  • Terms and Conditions

At Little Lion Tours & Safaris, we are committed to providing exceptional safari and Zanzibar holiday experiences. The following Terms & Conditions form the agreement between the client and Little Lion Tours & Safaris. By confirming a booking and making a payment, the client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and accepted these terms.

1. BOOKINGS & PAYMENTS

Zanzibar Excursions and Holiday Packages

To confirm and secure a Zanzibar package, a deposit of 25% of the total booking value is required at the time of reservation. Once the deposit is received, accommodation, transfers, excursions, guides, and other services included in the itinerary will be reserved on the client’s behalf.

The remaining balance must be paid no later than 14 days before the arrival date. Failure to complete payment within the specified period may result in cancellation of the reservation and forfeiture of the deposit.

Safari Packages

Due to the high demand for safari accommodations, national park permits, domestic flights, and other safari-related services, a 50% deposit of the total safari cost is required to secure and confirm any safari booking.

The remaining balance must be paid in full at least 30 days before the safari departure date. This allows the company to finalize accommodation payments, park entry permits, transportation arrangements, and other supplier commitments.

For any safari booking made within 30 days of departure, 100% payment is required at the time of booking confirmation.

No safari services, accommodation reservations, flights, park permits, or transportation arrangements will be guaranteed until the required payment has been received and confirmed by the company.

1.1 Travel Documents & Final Confirmation Package

Once the full tour payment has been received and confirmed, Little Lion Tours & Safaris will finalize all travel arrangements with hotels, lodges, camps, airlines, ferry operators, and other service providers.

Within five (5) working days after receipt of the final payment, clients will receive a complete travel package containing:

  • Confirmed hotel, lodge, or camp vouchers
  • Domestic flight tickets and flight schedules (if included)
  • Ferry tickets (if included)
  • Airport and hotel transfer details
  • Final detailed day-by-day itinerary
  • Emergency contact information
  • Guide and driver information where applicable
  • Any additional travel documents related to the booked services

Clients are advised to carefully review all documents upon receipt and immediately notify Little Lion Tours & Safaris of any discrepancies or required corrections.

In exceptional circumstances, where confirmation from third-party suppliers is delayed, delivery of travel documents may take longer. In such cases, clients will be informed promptly and provided with updates until all arrangements are finalized.

For last-minute bookings made within 14 days of travel, travel documents may be issued as soon as supplier confirmations are received and may be delivered less than five working days before departure.

Payment Methods

Payments may be made through:

  • International bank transfer
  • Credit or debit card
  • Mobile money (where applicable)
  • Other approved payment methods agreed upon by Little Lion Tours & Safaris

Any bank charges, transfer fees, currency conversion fees, or intermediary banking costs are the responsibility of the client.

All prices are quoted in United States Dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated.

2. CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

We understand that travel plans may occasionally change. However, cancellations often result in unrecoverable costs from hotels, airlines, national parks, and other service providers. Therefore, the following cancellation policy applies:

Safari & Zanzibar Packages

Cancellation more than 30 days before arrival or departure

  • Clients will receive an 80% refund of the total amount paid.
  • The remaining 20% covers administrative costs, banking fees, and non-recoverable supplier charges.

Cancellation between 15 and 29 days before arrival or departure

  • Clients will receive a 50% refund of the total amount paid.

Cancellation within 14 days of arrival or departure

  • No refund will be provided due to commitments already made with accommodations, transport providers, national parks, guides, and other suppliers.

Exceptional Circumstances

Refund requests due to serious illness, injury, death of an immediate family member, or other genuine emergencies may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Supporting documentation may be required. Any refund granted under exceptional circumstances remains solely at the discretion of Little Lion Tours & Safaris and subject to supplier refund policies.

Refund Processing

Approved refunds will be processed within 14 business days from the date of approval. Bank charges and transaction fees are non-refundable.

3. PRICES & RATE CHANGES

All prices provided by Little Lion Tours & Safaris are based on current rates from hotels, lodges, camps, airlines, ferry operators, national parks, and other suppliers.

While every effort is made to maintain confirmed prices, we reserve the right to adjust rates in the event of:

  • Government tax increases
  • National park fee adjustments
  • Conservation fee changes
  • Fuel surcharges
  • Currency exchange fluctuations
  • Supplier-imposed increases

Once full payment has been received and confirmed, the agreed tour price will generally remain unchanged unless additional government-imposed fees are introduced after booking confirmation.

These documents may include:

  • Valid passport with sufficient validity

Little Lion Tours & Safaris cannot be held responsible for denied boarding, denied entry, missed departures, visa refusals, or any costs arising from incomplete, incorrect, expired, or missing travel documentation.

Upon request, we can provide guidance and visa assistance; however, visa approval remains entirely at the discretion of Tanzanian Immigration Authorities.

All safari vehicles and transport units are equipped with a fully stocked first aid kit, which is regularly inspected and maintained to ensure it is ready for use in case of any emergency.

In addition, the company provides first aid training to our drivers and safari staff to ensure they are equipped with the necessary skills to offer immediate and appropriate assistance in the event of a minor accident or medical emergency during the tour.

In the event of any health issue or minor accident, our team is trained to respond quickly and assist clients in accessing the nearest medical facility or hospital if required.

However, all clients are strongly advised to have comprehensive travel insurance that includes medical coverage and emergency evacuation to ensure full protection throughout their journey.

8. ITINERARY CHANGES

Little Lion Tours & Safaris reserves the right to modify, substitute, or adjust any itinerary due to operational requirements, weather conditions, safety concerns, wildlife movement, park regulations, transportation schedules, or unforeseen circumstances.

Whenever changes become necessary, we will endeavor to provide services of a similar or higher standard wherever reasonably possible.

Such adjustments shall not constitute grounds for compensation or cancellation.
